RV Gate Installation in Arizona Must Meet Local Building Codes for Pool Barriers

DCS Pool Barriers has a reputation for producing the highest quality gates that meet all regulation codes. I had this beautiful gate installed on my home in North Scottsdale and it fully complies with the building codes for Scottsdale.

For my gate in Scottsdale the code reads: Where access gates are provided, they shall comply with the requirements of Items 1 through 3. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device. Where the release mechanism of the self- latching device is located less than 54 inches (1372 mm) from the bottom of the gate, (1) the release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the barrier at least 3 inches (76 mm) below the top of the gate, and (2) the gate and barrier shall have no opening greater than 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) within 18 inches (457 mm) of the release mechanism. Pedestrian gates shall swing away from the pool. Any gates other than pedestrian access gates shall be equipped with lockable hardware or padlocks and shall remain locked at all times when not in use.

Arizona Pool Safety Tips from DCS Pool Barriers – Pool Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility!

Soon pools all across Arizona will be opened up for family fun after the cooler winter months. This is the perfect time to think about pool safety and the steps you can take to prevent pool-related accidents. On average, there are 90 drowning deaths in Arizona every year. Most drowning accidents can be prevented by establishing and following pool safety guidelines in your household.

The number one safety rule for families should be to establish rules about supervised pool use. Children should never be left unsupervised in or near the pool, and should be watched carefully by adults at all times. A child can drown in the time it takes to answer the phone or run to get the sunscreen.

Pools should have permanent, galvanized steel pool fencing. DCS Pool Barriers in Phoenix, AZ is a leading manufacturer and installer of high quality fencing which can be customized so that it is not only durable and meets local pool barrier code, but will blend with the style of the home and property. Gates on your pool fencing should close and latch automatically, and should never be left propped open. Patio furniture or other large objects should be far enough away from the fencing so that children cannot climb over the fence and gain access to the pool area.
